Allen J. Eide

Allen graduated from the USD School of Law, cum laude, in 1971. After passing the Bar Exam, he entered two years of active duty with the US Army, in Indiana and Atlanta, GA. In 1973 he returned to Watertown and entered the private practice of law. He continued doing that until the end of 1997, when he went to work for the SD Department of Revenue, in Pierre. In 2002 he became an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Sioux Falls, serving for over four years. While he was at the Department of Revenue, he argued and won the first case in the South Dakota Supreme Court with cameras in the courtroom. Estate of Zoss, 2001 SD 124. He is currently mostly retired, although he had seasonal employment at the Rushmore Mall in Rapid City. That employment at the Outlets of Des Moines in Iowa and the Rushmore Mall in Rapid City for the last four Christmas seasons.
Allen became a Master Mason in Concord Lodge No. 13 in Watertown in June, 1968. He was W.M. in 1979; became a member of Yankton Valley, Scottish Rite, S.J., served a term as Illustrious Master of Watertown Council No. 4, and was Chapter Dad of Adhemar Chapter, Order of DeMolay in 1978. He was the Associate Guardian of Bethel No. 10, I.O.J.D., in Pierre in 2000 — 2002. He served a term on the Commission on Masonic Education in the 1980’s, and was District Master on two occasions, each lasting two years. He was appointed to complete a term on the Board of Custodians of the work. He is a past President of the SD Masonic Veteran’s Association.
In 1997 he demitted from Concord Lodge and affiliated with Jeptha Lodge No. 121 at Hudson, SD. He is a life member of Jeptha Lodge. In Jeptha Lodge, he was W.M. in 2007-08 and 2014-15. Allen was South Dakota Lodge Education Officer of the Year in 2009 and has been a member of the Commission on Masonic Education since 2009. He is member of the SD Lodge of Masonic Research and currently serves as its Senior Warden.
He lives in Spearfish and often attends Lodge there.

Dennis E. Nelsen

Dennis Nelsen is a lifelong South Dakota resident. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA Degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science; and Masters Degree in Public Administration. He formerly was a law enforcement officer and served over twenty years in health care administration. He served ten years as a City Administrator in Freeman and Elk Point, South Dakota. He was a member of the South Dakota Municipal League where he served on the Public Policy Committee. He served on several economic and community development boards and was President for the South East South Dakota Tourism Board of Directors. He currently serves as Treasurer for Horizon Healthcare, Inc. Board of Directors. Dennis is retired and enjoys spending his time in Freemasonry. He is a past business administration adjunct faculty instructor with National American University, Rapid City.
WB Dennis was initiated, passed and raised in Incense Lodge #2 in Vermillion. He served as Lodge Past Master. He is currently serving on the Lodge Board of Trustees. Dennis was appointed in 2020 as the Senior Grand Steward for the South Dakota Grand Lodge. He is actively involved with York Rite and Yankton Valley Scottish Rite. He is a member of the Scottish Knights Commander Court of Honor (KCCH). He serves on the South Dakota Scottish Rite Foundation Board of Directors. He is a Past Fellow of Grand Commander’s Fellows Program.
WB Nelsen and his wife Connie have one daughter Courtney. He has three grandchildren. He currently resides in Vermillion.
WB Dennis was nominated by the Brothers of Resurgam Lodge #31 and Mount Rushmore Lodge #220.
